Even Intel Has an App Store Now‎ And so we find Intel — a chip maker of all things — opening a software store at this week’s Consumer Electronics Show. Intel’s app store is called the AppUp Center. (As if the name wasn’t cool enough on its own, Intel has slapped a “beta” tag on the Web site to let everyone know it is familiar with the hip software lingo.) At its core, the AppUp Center is a Web site catering to applications meant to run on netbooks.
