Hi all,
I just purchase a new HP Pavilion dv5-1002au .I started playing around with it and I installed mandriva 2008 but after completing full installation its reboot and stop when it checking for SCSI and not going ahead.
My laptop configuration is :-
AMD Turion X2 Dual Core Mobile RM 70 2.00 GHz
ACPI Multiprocessor PC
HDD-Generic Multi Card USB Device
WDC WD2500 BEVS-6003TO
SCSI Disk Device
Graphics - ATI Redeon HD 3200 Gr
SCSI and RAID Controller:-
AMD AHCI Compatible RAID controller
AMD RAID Console

can any one help me?

I tried every thing according to this link :-http://linuxindore.com/linux-newbie-lounge/rhel-4-installation-in-sata-hdd.html#103
but in the BIOS, there is NOT SETTING whatsoever to disable the Native SATA , which is REQUIRED if I want to install linux.Even Live cd doesn't works.
Plz help me...

Hi Nishant,

Please try latest Live CD from http://www.mepis.org/ They have superb hardware support. If this doesnot work, I guess you have bought a machine meant for Year 2020.

Please charge to HP support center in Bangalore and tell them, "I have to run Linux on this laptop. So, get it done."

I tried latest Mepis Live CD and I feel happy to say its working properly.
