Hi all,
I installed Mandriva 2008 spring on my HP pavilion dv5-1002au.Its working properly except 3d effect.When I go for set 3d effect it says "your system does not support 3d effect" and rest of two options are grad out. and also sound mixer is not working.How can I set up sound driver for this.

My laptop have following graphics card :-

AMD Turion X2 Dual Core Mobile RM 70 2.00 GHz
Graphics - ATI Redeon HD 3200 Gr

Nishant/Amit,
Can anyone of you come up with your laptop in todays meeting. I have a resolution (I fixed it same for one of my HP laptop) but I need to reproduce it. After fixing anyone of your laptop, I'll update how-to here at forums.

Also, give a try to http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Main_Page it peacefully works.

Hey Chetan,

I dont know about Amit, but Nishant is in Bangalore, working there. So, I guess, he cannot make it toms in meeting.

To enable graphics you need to install proper driver for the kernel
there are two ways to do it:

1> just install the driver using rpmdrake (recommended)

2> you can download the driver from

http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

you just need to install it in run level 3

(just edit line

id:5:initdefault:

replace 5 with 3 & save the file
)

you might be asked for kernel source path & for mandriva 2008 the kernel
source would be somewhere in /usr/src/linux-2.6.*.*
