Feedback of Linuxindore 2008 Event 3 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hello guys,
I guess the event was a grant success. LUG Indore is getting really popular these days, thanks to our moderators & volunteers .
We would be having weekly meeting at our headquarters every Saturday evening 8:00PM onwards, Please be verbose. You can share whatever you have learned or encountered, this way every buddy will improve.
There is no compulsion to come but being there would lead us towards the motion.

The event was a huge success.
But I would like to say that we should not target a special group of people.

In other countries even the school going students are attached with open source.
It is a boon for all.

Now as open source is spreading we need to have a hardcore community that develops good applications. But most of us are still at the user (Advanced/Beginner doesn't matter) stage.

\\\\\"What happens when you read some doc and either it doesn\\\\\'t answer your question or is demonstrably wrong? In Linux, you say \\\\\"Linux sucks\\\\\" and go read the code. In Windows etc you say \\\\\"Windows sucks\\\\\" and start banging your head against the wall.\\\\\"

Hey all,

Agree with everyone, that the event pulled an unexpected number of CROWD !

But yes, i guess everyone will agree that some session caused the viewers to walk out the auditorium

Wish to add some more multimedia topics from next year onwards....to keep the crowd sitting !

Anyways, all is well that ends well.....Not to forget had a great night out at JAL !!

It is really great to see that the event was sustained yet again for another year.
I am really so sad that I could not attend. I will have to consult an astrologer to see why I am forced out of Indore for urgent business on exactly the same day of LINUXINDORE.

Is there any movement to take up Linux activities at the n number of Engg. colleges
in and around Indore??

Please let me know. Or it may be better to start another thread.

10 Things to Consider When Choosing a Linux Distribution
I can’t begin to tell you how many people over the years I have consulted with about choosing a Linux distribution. And even with my own personal loyalties to one distribution or another, it always amazes me how certain distributions are better suited to various users and needs. So when I set out to write a 10 Things article, it only made sense that my first one be related to choosing a Linux distribution.

Interview: How a hacker became a freedom fighter
One of the founding fathers of "free software" and an esteemed elder of the hacking community, Richard Stallman has made defending people's freedoms his life's work. That usually means supplying hackers with software and attacking copyright law. But as he tells Michael Reilly, his advocacy of personal freedoms extends to the protection of true democracy and of the human rights increasingly being trampled on in the US and elsewhere.
